When I was about 19 I did a workshop in London. In one exercise all the people in the room (about 70) were told they were on a sinking ship and only six people could be saved as their was just one lifeboat. In one minute or less we had to individually convince the group leaders why we should be saved. Guess who was first and didn't make the lifeboat cut?! "Too panicy", was the feedback and nearly thirty years later with a 5:00am phone call from a loving friend that a tsunami was on it's way, not much has changed. Others drank champagne had parties and generally frolicked in the face of the unknown. Meanwhile at 5:45am I was in line for an hour at the store for groceries, while calling our IT guy to shut down the work server and generally not being a whole lot of fun.
...and lord knows you need a bit of fun on a lifeboat.

I understand that the tsunami was less than awesome by the time it arrived in Hawaii. That would be a good thing.
Aw bless, that takes me back to your youth. You've come such a long way outwardly but timid Sharon still lurks.
I've just had another look at the screaming image and there's one thing you can be thankful for, not one filling shows :-)
TG: Yup, luckily it was just tidal surges of 3-4 feet every 15 minutes or so. No complaints.... I could be in Chile...
LL: I have my moments! Actually if you double click on the pici there's a great big gold filling that is quite unsightly!
OMG you shouldn't have told me to double click - I could see a couple of black ones as well and those heavily lidded eyes remind me of my own!! You poor soul, facial lines from father, eyelids from your mother. May I apologise, at this late stage, on behalf of the two of us?
Perhaps, in future, better not publish your interpretation of "The Scream"!!!!!!!
Hey Sharon,
I never would have made the lifeboat cut either, at least in a simulated situation such as you describe. In real life though, I would have clawed my way into that lifeboat with you on my back! After all, the most important thing we have to share in life is our funnery!
Missed you at the impromtu champagne party by the side of the road on Saturday! Looking forward to seeing you next month!
Ely
