I'm in love!

The object of my desire has been a bit elusive, but after many dates with the Nikon and then the Sony, it was love at first click with the Canon Powershot SX 10 IS . I have to thank my bro for playing cupid, though how he knew from across the pond that I would be a match with this particular make and model is still a mystery to me. Anyway, I'm in the blissful honeymoon stage of relationship and forsee (as one does) a long and happy liaison in my future, finally!

I've barely got to page 6 of the instruction manual and truth be told, feel like I need a night school class to understand most of the jargon. However, here's a little preview of the magic qualities (that I've unearthed so far) of this stunning camera

And with my 20x optical zoom I can surreptitiously capture all the boy's best bits. The Maui male uniform is so much better than a suit and tie.

But before I bid a fond adieu to my other cameras, here's a final snap that begs the caption "OK-one of us should probably not be buying ice cream"! ...judgemental, hell yes, but funny none the less.

Wow, even I as a total novice can see the difference (love the Joseph and his multi-coloured pants).

Re. your brother knowing what you would like (a) I bet it was expensive (b) he has known you all his life remember and (c) he is the camera buff to end all camera buffs.

Lovely pictures - I look forward to lots of painting photographs.

I've just been having another look at your entry and how clever is that? I looked and didn't "see" a wok (or whatever) of green veg in a black and white photograph OR, do I need my cataracts redoing?
Please tell me I'm not seeing things.

Mater: I believe 'C' is the one that applies!

You're not seeing things, there is a feature that picks out one colour and b/w's everything else. Double click on the kitchen picture and the one above it to get a better look. Very cool.

Congratulations on your cool camera. I'm jealous. BTW, I am adding a link to you from my blog. Hope that's ok.

TG: Honored to be on your blog roll are I'm curious are you still taking all your photo's with your i-phone?

With very few exceptions I use only photos from my iPhone. No flash, no tricks, no correcting after the fact. It is interesting to see what I can do within these constraints.

What really makes it fun is that as soon as I get a photo I want to use, I can post it directly to my blog via email from the iPhone. It is like posting in "real time".

Wow!! nice pics. Puts my digital SLR to shame. I either need better lenses or I need to learn to use it correctly.
