This is not a dress re-hears-al!

Once upon a time I heard that the most stolen sign on Maui was that at Hookipa Lookout or as it’s often graffitied.... Hookipa, lookout! As I’ve frequently seen the sign cleaned up and the size change, I have no doubt this is true.

Today’s version (for me) was a classic. The subplot is not exactly hidden, some frustrated surfer feeling territorial of his precious spot posts a message for all to see. Unfortunately his spelling (or lack there of) is also on display, which makes the whole thing rather amusing to a UK eye, as we only know this word with two 'l's! 'Kinel, I guess this is in the same family as 'travelled' and 'traveled'...but I digress.

A while ago I’d pointed out a hearse to Giampaolo (I have no idea why) and his response was ‘I wonder how many boards I could fit in that thing'?! So today at Hookipa when I saw a hearse pull in, I knew some canny surfer had had the same thought as the Itai.
I was sitting in my car and got my best image via the wing mirror, but imagine my surprise as the car drove by and I saw the undertaker! (gotta double click on the pici to find out).

Who's the driver? Robby Naish?

Obviously the person who printed the addendum to the Hookipa Lookout only had one "L" on their John Bull printing outfit.

Robby Naish does nothing for me - should he?

funny how windsurfing was once the height of "coolness." now? well you know...

coolness was never a factor to me; it was all that gear, rigging, de-rigging finally killed it for me.

Caller #1, you win (I’m not sure what) but yes, it is Sir Robby!

Mater; no worries, he’s not your type 

Hey Kitekook, you are right. With kite surfing, SUP, tow-in and god knows what else; windsurfing is not the ‘star’ it used to be. Still, I’m surprised if rigging and de-rigging was a pain that the joys of entanglement thrill you!

Nancy: GP driving the hearse, uh no, though I’ve no doubt he’ll take this as a compliment!

It's a bio-diesel car ?

Chris: I'm not sure if the Caddy is bio diesal (that would be v.cool)but it did take a while to start. Next time I have to get a closer look and see how he's pimped out the inside for sailing :-)

So Robby Naish needs a new car mechanic for his several cars, maybe one that knows about smooth engines.
Awesome 5 star shots, never boring!!! Thanks!

one thing i never understood is all these windsurf guys, who are obviously into a great outdoor "clean" sport ( if they dipsose of the epoxy and polyesters well that is the cannery was loaded with that stuff years back)and many of them drive gas guzzlers. i can understand the need for full sized vans for equipiment and even the hearse that robby has, as i bet its holds lots of gear but i bet its got a big hopped up 350 or 454 under the hood.. its IMHO but I just dont get this paradox.
