Purple, yellow and pearl.

I passed a woman sitting...or rather posing under a blooming Jacaranda wearing all purple and having her photograph taken. "That's quite the effort" I thought as I drove by, but these stunning trees spark the imagination and make people do wacky shit like that.

These buses are not quite so majestic or quirky, but they are quintessentially American, which is what I always think when I drive by them. On weekends, they're parked above the grassy, flower filled graveyard of St.Joseph's church and I pass them on my way to ride in the Makawao Forest.

My hands want to grab the top of the buses (I can instantly feel the texture of the windows on my finger tips) and run them along the ground like Matchbox Cars.

Instead let me grab some thing a little more satisfying!

Oh the delicious and novel joy of being able to grab handfuls of pearls and feel them rolling around like ball bearings in the palms of your hands. If you went into a stuffy old jewelry store you could never do some thing as yummy and unconventional as this (or at least I couldn't!). Luckily our Tahitian Pearl source let us giddily grope her wares before deliriously buying one bracelet too many.

Meesh making a considered choice.

Of course not all of us need such extravagant accoutrement's, case in point....pup on park bench with bottle cap accessory.

Those jacarandas are something else and I totally agree with you about the yellow buses being "American". However, the pictures that really caught my eye(s) were the pearls. Remember when I had a black pearl fitted into a ring when I was on the island one time? I lost it long ago and WOULD LOVE TO HAVE ANOTHER ONE!!!! Do you think that could be a slight hint re. a birthday/Christmas present? Just a thought........

That is a sweet looking pit bull puppy. He has white boots like my Smokey.

I didn't say "I WANT a pearl ring", I just made a suggestion that was all....... You may not have even thought of it and I know you find it difficult to buy gifts for the woman who has/had everything!!!!!

Do you think the residents of St Joseph's go for rides at the weekends? Those buses always put me in mind of 1950's charas!(may have to check with Mater re this).
Love the idea of playing with pearls like marbles, also the concentration on Meesh's face. Do you think they had a pearl count up when you two girls had left??

I know I'm elderly Mchumbie but even I don't remember the charabanc! However, I do believe it was open-topped as I have a photograph of my parents sitting high and dry in one :-)
You made me look again at the pearl pictures and I thought the girls had gone back to their childhood and were making pictures out of pearls. I'm sure that's an elephant I can see although I would have thought the more likely animal should have been a swine!

Do you think these youngsters have ANY IDEA what we're talking about?
